Mind-Blowing Scientific Facts

Howdy boys and girls!

I’ve become very interested in science recently, and it’s made me realise that the world is a truly fascinating place! I’ve put together some facts that are guaranteed to blow your mind – check them out!

Did you know…?

• Butterflies taste their food by standing on top of it!
• Astronomers discovered a planet last year which rains glass, sideways! The planet, known as HD 189733b was discovered using a space telescope
• There are so many combinations, that if you shuffle a pack of cards properly, the chances are that exact order has never been seen before – ever!
• Russia has more surface area than Pluto!
• On Titan (one of Saturn’s moons) the atmosphere is so thick and the gravity so low that humans could fly through it by flapping their ‘wings’
• Sneezing with your eyes open is physically impossible
• 111,111,111 × 111,111,111 = 12345678987654321
• A cat has 32 muscles in each ear. Meow!
• Children have 300 bones in their body, whilst adults only have 206. “Why?” I hear you ask… Because as you grow older, some of the bones fuse together
• Ants never sleep. They must be so tired!
• A Mars-sized object crashed into the Earth 4.5 billion years ago. It chipped off a chunk of rock, which is now known as… the moon!

I hope you enjoyed my facts, and I’ll see you soon!
